As much as I might like surprises, I’d rather be prepared when it comes to new seasons’ fashion trends. So, if you are a bit like me, you’ll be happy to know I’ve scoured the best shops and spotted 4 new fashion trends coming for fall 2021.
Based on the A/W 2021 Fashion Week trends and the Pre-Fall collections just dropping in shops like Farfetch, Browns, Moda Operandi, and Matches Fashion, I selected the most wearable new trends. And they are so timeless you can wear them not only now but also in the coming seasons.

1- The new midi dresses come in bright colours
Bright colours will definitely be a major trend this fall, matching our celebratory post-pandemic mood. Hence the new pre-fall midi dresses in bright hues are staples you’ll wear again and again in the next months. Easy-to-wear and versatile, the bright-colour dresses come in relaxed silhouettes that look great with heeled sandals or chunky boots. To sum up, this new trend is the best of both worlds, combining comfort with dressing up. 2- Cut-out embellishments
Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’ S/S 2021 collection introduced cut-out looks, and since then, the trend has invaded the fashion scene. From Stella McCartney and David Koma to Victoria Beckham and Johnathan Simkhai, designers have created all kinds of garments embellished with cheeky cut-outs for Pre-Fall 2021 that you will wear throughout fall and winter too.
3- Matchy-matchy suiting
We’re longing for chic office outfits after such a long time working from home in track pants. Consequently, matching tailored separates are a hot trend for fall and winter and, thanks to the pre-fall collections, I’ve already found elevated coordinated pieces in my favourite shops. So consider investing in matching jackets and trousers or pleated midi skirts like the ones presented by Off-White, Balmain, and Thom Browne for Pre-Fall 2021. Additionally, boxy cropped jackets and loose-fitting blazers are stylish staples that are very contemporary and flattering.
4- Revisiting knit sets
In fall 2021, you’ll be raiding your grandma’s wardrobe. The matching knit sets with a retro vibe are as comfortable as the tracksuits. But they look much more elevated so that you can wear them both as loungewear and office outfit. This cosy fall 2021 trend is also very versatile; you can mix and match your new knit sets with pieces you already have in your wardrobe.
