2018 is really a dream-year for all shoe addicts! The shoe trends this year are so many, so fun and in so many different styles that you will want to buy dozens of new shoes!
Notorious has already shown you most of the 2018 trends before but we rounded up here all the hottest shoe trends to help you find the shoes of your dreams now:
The trend of ugly sneakers is probably the most comfortable trend ever! Since Celine introduced the ugly shoes back in 2003, the big chunky shoe trend has invaded catwalks and streets. Balenciaga’s Triple S sneakers are a huge success as are the multi-coloured and futuristic looking Alexander McQueen or Louis Vuitton’s sneakers.
Cowboy boots are one of the biggest trends and we’ll be wearing them throughout spring and summer. We saw them on the catwalks of Givenchy in yellow and worn with skimpy dresses, Calvin Klein and Chloe, both with red boots, also matched the boots with summer dresses and Armani, with cowboy booties. The twist this year is to choose bright colours or metallic materials.
With the 80’s comeback, the stiletto pumps à la Victoria Beckham are a must for this spring! Although they’re classic in shape, in 2018, your heels will come in colours such as lavender ash, yellow, mint green or in bright orange and pink like Tom Ford’s pumps. For an extra-glam effect, try Victoria Beckham’s pointed and seriously high pumps in silver, gold, green or red glitter.
Chanel started this trend with transparent plastic boots, bags, coats and hats and other designers followed this transparency trend, such as Moschino, Balmain. Transparent plastic shoes are going to be everywhere this summer. To avoid sweaty feet in the heat, urgh, wear your plastic see-through shoes with some cool socks and you will be so 2018!
As we’ve already mentioned, the slingbacks are very on-trend again. This kind of mix between stilettos and sandals is perfect for spring, not too closed as the normal pump you’d wear in winter nor too open like the sandals you’d wear in summer! In 2018, you should wear your kitten heels embellished with crystals like Manolo Blahnik’s or with socks, as shown on the catwalks of Fendi among many others.
As it usually happens when the spring comes, mules are back again. If you’ve already bought way too many shoes, don’t worry, you can easily update your last year’s mule by embellishing them with some feathers, pearls or anything shiny, really.
Decorated with crystals, pearls, bows or feathers like Saint Laurent’s sandals and boots or Versace’s sandals, the main thing is that in 2018 your shoes must be embellished!
This season, all types of shoes come in white, pumps, mules, sandals, even cowboy boots, so don't be afraid of wearing them day or night.
