A LOT is going on at Dior right now. Because not only one, or two, but rather three huge projects are keeping the Maison busy at the moment: For their 70th anniversary, Dior is currently running the biggest fashion exhibition ever in Paris. Apart from that, they just launched their new charity campaign, the DIOR LOVE CHAIN. And last but not least, together with the Galeries La Fayette, they opened an other exhibition in the French department store.
“Couturier Du Rêves” (engl. Taylor Of Dreams) is what the exhibition at the Musée Des Arts Décoratifs in Paris is called. It highlights each of Dior’s creative periods, showing pieces of all the creative directors the company ever engaged, such as Yves Saint Laurent, John Galliano, Raf Simons and of course Christian Dior himself. On display are, besides garments and gowns, toiles, photography, drawings and original documents documenting Dior’s history.
The second exhibition, "I Feel Blue", held at the Galeries Lafayette, shows looks and designs in blue throughout Dior’s history. For the occasion exclusively designed pieces will be on sale. It runs for only 20 days, starting on September 20.
A great stir is the new charity campaign making now. The DIOR LOVE CHAIN launched two days ago and already found many participants. In the short film, Natalie Portman asks celebrities and viewers ‘’What would you do for love?”. Stars as Johnny Depp, Carine Roitfield, Jamie King or Camille Rowe joined the project by giving their answers. For each video, that is posted on Social Media with the Hashtag #DIORLOVECHAIN, Dior will donate $1 to the charity @WEMOVEMENT, in partnership with Natalie Portman, in order to provide education to young girls in Kenya.
Dior is truly becoming a talking point at the moment, but this time, not because of a new collection. Watch the DIOR LOVE CHAIN video and catch a glimpse at the Paris exhibition in our gallery!
