2018 FIFA World Cup, the event, which was much awaited by football fans and girls who enjoy watching boys running around in shorts, is taking place in Russia this year.
It is a massive opportunity for Russia to show the world its incredible progress and innovative culture.
They estimate that a million and a half people will come from abroad for the games and more than three billion people around the world will watch on TV the World Cup!
Vladimir Filippov, from the Moscow Department of Culture, said“ “We want to show the modern, advanced and fashionable capital of Russia. We intend to break the stereotype of Russia as a post-soviet country with archaic tastes.”
One of the best examples of this modern, forward-thinking and fashionable city is fashion designer Anastasia Dokuchaeva, whose eponymous brand has just been in its third season at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia but is already very popular with her fun accessories and colourful clothes.
Dokuchaeva made a partnership last year with Elena Shevtsova, whose holding owns several businesses such as restaurants and bars. The two partners joined forces, and the newcomer Dokuchaeva’s recent show was welcome with great enthusiasm. Her FW 2018 collection was a futuristic affair, with holographic and neon colours, shiny fabrics, plastic, oversize accessories, pinks and yellows, all in beautiful and well-cut pieces.
The Russian brand has three lines: Dokuchaeva Woman, Dokuchaeva Homme and Dokuchaeva Lights, their streetwear line.
Anastasia says the primary purpose of her clothes is to cause a "wow effect" and put the wearer in the center of attention forever. This is why she doesn’t want to burden her creations with legends or personal biography; according to the designer, Dokuchaeva is just outfit. But according to what we’ve seen, it is much more than that, it is vibrant youth and energy, it is defiance and fun too.
