New York Fashion Week Fall 2017 has just kicked off, and youâ€™re in for some surprises. One staggering one comes straight from the runway of one of the most discussed new labels of the past couple of years, Vetements. Seemingly a normcore-inspired brand customized for the younger street-loving generation, Vetements changed the cards on the table dishing out a row of models of every shape, background, and age.
Channeling â€œsocial uniformsâ€, as designer Demna Gvasalia herself told Vogue, the Fall 2017 collection is a portrait and re-interpretation of what is the truest concept of street style. Literal street style. She also said:
What we do here is always a reappropriation of something which already exists.
