Smaranda Almasan is a Romanian label, founded in 2009 by the same-named designer. This year, it has been already her 6th time at MQ Vienna Fashion Week, thereby it is still special to her: “I am proud to show my collection here. It is very important for young designers to be visible and recognized internationally. For that, Fashion Weeks play an important role.”, as she points out. Probably to the Romanian designer even more, as in her home country there is no Fashion Week (yet).
Yesterday, she presented her Spring/Summer18 collection on Vienna’s runway. Last year’s prints have been replaced by sequins and metallics, which correspond with the current major trends.
Almasan’s designs are known to be experimental in colors, patterns, and shapes, though they are wearable and made for everyday use.The style could be described as avant-garde, with a very individual touch that gives it a high recognition value.
