Carla Fendi, one of the five magical Fendi sisters, has passed away last week in Rome.
The Fendi sisters started to work their magic after inheriting a small leather goods shop in the same city and climbed the ladder of international success to create what is now one of the most well-known fashion houses in the world. Carla's role in its evolution has been fundamental, thanks to her taking over marketing and commercial operations. She was nicknamed the General for a reason, and has remained president (although honorary) even after Fendi has been sold to LVMH.
Several international papers have reported the news and highlighted Fendi's main contributions to the world of fashion throughout the years. After all, we need to thank Fendi if fur is not only a staple in middle-class, older wardrobes but also an evergreen on runways everywhere in the world.
