With every couture week comes at least one collection which is about to really blow your mind. Dior usually is on top of the list we make up in our minds and barely fails to impress us. Whereas other collections are amazingly conceived as a whole or have some outstanding pieces, this year´s creations at Dior were perfected right down to the last detail and every single look was on point.
What at first glance might feel like a(nother) modern approach to the classic Dior silhouette is by far more than that. The design of the location already gave a foretaste about what Maria Grazia Chiuri was focusing on. Toiles of the collection´s pieces which were installed up the walls of the plain white room (who else was reminiscing about the Dior Exhibition?) pointed out the importance of the atelier´s artistry and the relationship the studio has with its clients. With this collection Chiuri proves that haute couture doesn´t always need to be ostentatious or overly dramatic. The reserved colour palette, classic cuts, finest fabrics and above all the manual skills of the couturiers are what make the individual pieces appreciated by the women who decide to wear Dior.
