We’re not strange to Spanish fashion brands, right? Zara’s entered into our lives in the early 90s, can you imagine?
However made-in-Spain or as they called #MarcaEspaña is much more than Zara, Mango or Massimo Dutti, the Spanish fashion scene is creative, diverse and young, that’s why I always consider Madrid in my shopping spree destinations. Among my favourite places to shopping is Bimba Y Lola, the brand that I want introduce to you.
Bimba y Lola, was founded in 2005 by the siblings María and Uxía Dominguez, who came from a family with a strong history in fashion. Their uncle is the designer Adolfo Dominguez and their father, Jesús Dominguez is the finance wizard behind the STL textile group. The brand now counts with more than 220 stores in 14 different countries.
Trivia information: the name Bimba y Lola stands for the owners' dogs names.
The Bilbao fashion house has a strong hand in accessories, especially bags and jewellery, but more and more colour, pattern and bold illustrations are defining Bimba Y Lola identity. You can see this also in their communication, for Spring/Summer 18 collection María and Uxía have collaborated with artist Hattie Stewart.
Bimba Y Lola is now standing on the top ten list of Spanish textile brands behind some of the biggest names such as the Inditex. Check their online shop, you’ll love it!
