The 23-year-old Austrian Instagrammer Kevin Elezaj has worked hard to turn his passions, travelling, sports and creative stuff in general, into a fulltime occupation. He was born in Linz but has chosen Berlin as his base, where he works as a content creator, blogger and model.
He has a blog about lifestyle and his Instagram has already 63.6k followers.
Notorious spoke to Kevin. We had a million questions to ask him :) Keep reading to know more about him:
Sum up a day in your life in 10 words
Sleep, Breakfast, Gym, Mac, Camera, Cooking, Work, Netflix, Household, Fun
How and when did you start sharing content on social media and what was your motto at that time
I opened my Instagram account back in October 2012 but started to get more active in Summer 2013. Everything that has to do with photography and fashion was always my biggest hobby. My motto was and still is, showing my readers all I love.
Pros and cons of the influencer's lifestyle that people probably don´t know
Pros: I can do whatever I want, express myself and at the same time most of the people like it. It's pure freedom, you can't gain anything more valuable.
Cons: It's a lot of work. But that's not even a disadvantage because it's my passion and something big would be missing if I wouldn't do that every day.
Do you think that any person could make a living on social media?
Of course not. It's a job like any other, you have to be good at and really live this life. If you try to fake it you probably won't get successful. It's like being a football player, not everyone has the talent and ambition.
Do you have any backup plan in case Instagram eventually disappears or the marketing-influencer scene changes?
Well, I don't really have that thought right now. But I still have my A-level and a diploma as a fitness- and health coach. But hopefully, I can live this life as long as possible.
Any side project that you are working on or any other passion you have?
Beside my Blog and my Instagram, I work on my body every day, no every minute. I plan my meals and go to gym/Crossfit 5 times a week at least. I couldn't live without sports.
Name 3 characteristics of your persona that make you different from the other Instagrammers/influencers/bloggers out there?
Discipline. Ambition. Born for it.
Of course, I cannot say that nobody else in this business has these characteristics, because there are a lot.
Favourite song, tv series atm.
Rae Sremmurd - Guatemala | Still looking for a new compelling one, any suggestions?
Influencer that you look up to
Mike Quyen, Johnny Edlind, Sam Kolder
Favourite spot and plan to do in Vienna.
The whole area in the first district. So clean and beautiful.
If you could ever have a dinner with a famous person, who would you choose? why?
Justin Bieber. I'm honest with you, I'm a fan of his work, his talent, and creativity. It would be interesting to talk with him.
What is the first thing on your bucket list?
Travel as much as I can.
What is a must for you in everybody´s wardrobe?
There are many. But if I had to select one it would be a solid pair of sneakers.
If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what would you ask?
Will war and poverty end someday?
What´s the most interesting thing you´ve read or seen this week?
Seen: Mallorca. Have been there on April 11 and 12 for my first time and I was positively astonished.
What´s the most useless talent you have?
I'm good at FIFA :D
A movie that you would recommend someone to watch
What´s your favourite piece of clothing you own/owned?
Right now a grey cashmere sweater from ‘A days march'.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance of winning a medal for?
Playing FIFA :D
What is the most annoying habit that other people have?
What state or country do you never want to go back to?
USA and Asia.
What are you interested in that most people haven´t heard of?
Well, as I show everything I love on social media there's nothing left I guess.
How different was your life 1 year ago?
1 year ago was already cool because since back then, I do my job full-time. But there's a way bigger difference from my life 1,5 years ago. I was a waiter in my first 6 months in Berlin and started to earn money with my blog and Instagram secondarily. So I kind of "wasted" a lot of time with really hard work as an employee and couldn't really focus on social media. Both jobs were simply too much, so these 6 months were super intense.
What are you addicted to?
Fashion, exploring, travelling, sports, healthy food, healthcare.
What do you strongly suspect but have no proof of?
That a lot of Instagrammers buy their followers and reach. Hopefully, it all turns out one day. They not only betray themselves, they betray brands and companies, which is even worse. It's unfair to all the real creative talents out there who don't have that much reach.
What are some of your personal "rules" that you never break?
Get done what has to be done and do it with 100%. Do it right or leave it.
