Paris is the fashion capital number one in Europe, followed by Milan. London is the revolutionary, and how about Berlin, where does the German Capital stand in the fashion scenario?
I would say Berlin is the rebel fashion city, nonconformist, always trying to find its own way, despite anything else.
In 3 weeks’ time, Notorious is traveling to Berlin to photoshoot again with the Catalan photographer Sergi Pons and the German stylist Lynn Smith. We’ve been working together as a team for almost 2 years now, for a shoe retail company.
Good, so we’ve thought you might want to know our tips for the city that has become the symbol of reunification.

Voo is a 300 m2 store of contemporary fashion, modern design and luxury retail with an in-store café. The concept store has a selection of not only fashion but also, books, magazines, and art.
After 15 years as the director of the Museum of Things in Berlin, Murkudis opened his first shop in 2003, which is now located in the former workshop of a newspaper, where the well-curated and eclectic selection of objects, clothes, shoes, jewellery, chocolate and much more, is displayed in the huge space as in a museum.
The art gallery hosts not only exhibitions of painters, photographers and sculptors, but also events such as the “Good to Talk” when lectures, dance and musical performances will happen for 46 hours non-stop.

Since its opening in 2004, over 1 million visitors came to the several exhibitions on the history of photography. From 02.06 till 18.11, the exhibition “Between Art and Fashion” will take place. Carla Sozzani, former editor-in-chief of the Italian Elle and Vogue magazines, will show 200 photos from her collection of works from Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, David Bailey, Hiro, David LaChapelle, Man Ray and William Klein among others.

The stylish restaurant has a large 28-seat counter with a view into the kitchen from where you can see the dishes being prepared with only local and seasonal products from Berlin and its surrounding, staying true to their motto: “what we do not have, you do not need.”
Kin Dee, that in Thai means “eat well”, is an extremely authentic and sophisticated Thai restaurant. Chef Salad Kambhu was born and raised in Thailand and lived in her 20’s in New York where she studied and modelled while working in restaurants. Her food is a mix of Thai traditional cuisine and high-quality ingredients, this means that she replaces some Thai ingredients with regional alternatives.
The Monkey Bar, on the 10th floor of the 25Hour Hotel, with its amazing view of Berlin’s zoo, more specifically, the monkey’s section as the name suggests, is a great spot to have some drinks before heading to the neighbouring Neni for dinner.
This elegant and classic cocktail lounge, with red leather armchairs and green marble counters where they serve exotic cocktails and an extensive list of spirits, has on its walls huge nude photographs by German Helmut Newton.
