Spread this like confetti
The stars always shine, but never as bright as at the Oscar night!
At the 90th Academy Awards last Sunday in Los Angeles, the movie stars stepped on the red carpet in amazing gowns. They were shinning covered in not only Diamonds but also Aquamarines, Emeralds, Sapphires and Moon Stones.
It was a sparkling night, the duo Swarovski and production designer Derek McLane created a spectacular set featuring over 45 million crystals!
The stars wore breathtaking jewellery - estimated at more than $30 million - and it’s really difficult to decide which was the most beautiful.
Bulgari, Chopard and Harry Winston were the big winners of the night.
Bulgari was a significant presence on the Red Carpet.
Olympic ski racer Lindsey Vonn wore one of the most stunning jewellery pieces of the night, a vintage Bulgari necklace with ruby cabochons and diamonds and a diamond bracelet.
Ashley Judd, Samara Weaving and Abbie Cornish also selected Bulgari.
Zendaya, in one of the most amazing looks of the Awards, wore Art Déco diamond earrings and bracelets from the ’30s in a nice contrast with her chocolate brown gown.
At the much awaited Vanity Fair Party that happens every year after the Awards, Zendaya, Lily Aldridge, Naomi Campbell, Abbie Cornish and Maya Hawke also wore Bulgari’s jewels.
Tiffany & Co
Greta Gerwig wore a vintage moonstone necklace from 1910 and Zoe Deutch, earrings from the Extraordinary Colors of Tiffany Collection.
Gal Gadot chose a fabulous necklace inspired by the Art Déco of the ’30s, set with more than 100 diamonds and big aquamarines, including a 27 karat aquamarine drop, from the Tiffany & Co.’s 2018 Blue Book collection. It looked perfect with her Givenchy gown. Tiffany took more than a year just to find the right ethically sourced stones and cut them.
Allison Williams, one of the best dressed at the Oscar night, paired her beautiful Armani gown with the River Diamond earrings from Harry Winston’s Water collection, made in platinum with 16.03 carats of white diamonds and a cluster diamond bracelet.
The traditional Harry Winston was also the choice of Nicole Kidman, Helen Mirren, Salma Hayek and Elisabeth Moss, who wore gorgeous Chandelier earrings and a diamond bracelet.
Sally Hawkins wore Chopard jewels, a beautiful pair of pink quartz, rubellite and diamonds earrings from the Temptations Collection and a fancy brown, pink and white diamond ring from the High Jewelry Collection.
Paz Vega, Kelly Marie Tran, Eiza Gonzalez, Jane Fonda, Emily Blunt, Sofia Carson, Camila Alves, all selected Chopard too.
By the way, Emily Blunt looked magnificent in a fantastic light-blue Schiaparelli gown, paired with the pear-shaped aquamarines and diamond earrings and ring from the “Temptations Collection”. It was my favourite look, the colour of her eyes, of her dress and the jewellery matched to perfection.
Comedian Maya Rudolph wore a stylish pair of turquoise, pink opal and diamond earrings from Californian Irene Neuwirth, whose designs, often in shades of blue and green, are inspired by her love of the ocean. The pink opal and turquoise brought a splash of colour to the otherwise omnipresent diamond chandelier earrings and looked very lovely and fresh with Maya's red Valentino gown.
