Surely you’ve already seen plenty of influencers and beauty gurus talking about the benefits of jade rollers and Gua Sha stones. In fact, the hashtag #guasha has, so far, 110.8M views on TikTok! So what’s behind the huge popularity of these cute tools? Do Jade Rollers and Gua Sha really give you the glow of your life?
Jade rollers and Gua Sha stones have their origin in ancient Chinese medicine and have been used for centuries in royalty’s beauty rituals. In fact, the green gemstone is valued for its healing effects, and it is said that it balances your body´s energy and takes away bad vibes. Jade rollers and Gua Sha stones are now used to promote lymphatic drainage, depuff eyes, and minimise wrinkles. Additionally, facial massages with these tools reduce breakouts and give your skin more glow. Not to mention how relaxing they are.

How to use Jade rollers for glowing skin
Jade rollers normally have a bigger and a smaller end. The bigger one finds use on the larger areas of the face like cheeks and forehead, while the smaller one is for the undereye area and the parts around your nose and lips. If you store the roller in the freezer and then use it in the morning after waking up, it will give you refreshing energy and a glow boost with a depuffing effect.
How to use Gua Sha to glow
Like the jade rollers, facial Gua Sha, which translates into “scraping”, encourages the flow of lymphatic fluid and gets your circulation going, giving you a fab glow. This helps reduce puffiness and gets bad toxins out of your body. The thin tool has different sides which should be used in different ways. While the more curved ones are for your jawline and cheekbones, the flat part is for your forehead, and the round one is ideal for your neck.
No matter which one you choose, make sure to move your jade tool in upwards and outwards motions for effective anti-ageing therapy. Also, apply a facial oil or your favourite moisturiser first for easier use and better absorption of the products.
By the way: rollers and gua sha stones are also available in rose quartz with other characteristics than jade. But the rose facial tools also look really nice, if not nicer!
