A rainbow awaits us this Fall

From what we saw in the A/W19 catwalk shows during fashion week in New York, London, Paris and Milan, this fall will be anything but grey. Quite the contrary as a matter of fact. The colour trends for autumn will be all about rich tones like the vibrant Guacamole, but also cool hues such as the sophisticated Bluestone and Butter Yellow.
According to the Pantone Colour Institute, we have 29 colour trends from the A/W19 fashion shows. Among those, we selected the top six hues that are already popping up on our Instagram feeds and that we’re sure you will love wearing next season. These are statement colours that look wonderful by themselves, but you can also mix and match them to obtain unexpected and fabulous combinations:
Kate Spade AW19
As we already told you, purple in all its tones, as this Kate Spade chic look, was the absolute king of colours during fashion weeks. Lavender is one of our favourite purple shades. The soft hue is so elegant many designers chose it for their creations. Tom Ford’s sleek dresses or Dries Van Noten and Rodarte florals in lavender look fantastic for fall, as do Tibi’s all lavender outfit. You can pair this beautiful colour with any of the other hues in our selection; the result will always be fabulous.
Ilya Vermeulen walks the runway during the Givenchy show
This beautiful and warm colour is the fall variation of Living Coral, the red chosen by Pantone as the colour for 2019. The pale peach is a smooth tone to wear by itself like the beautiful Givenchy dress with extra-puffy sleeves, or paired with other hues, for example, avocado green, like Versace did. Peach Pink is flattering for all skin tones and a good option of a neutral colour not that neutral.
Celine Ready to Wear at Paris Fashion Week Womenswear Fall/Winter 2019/2020
We loved this '70s -inspired Celine look. Fall 19 will be pure glam, and nothing better than gold to get you in the right mood! Wether in metallic fabrics like lamé or covered in golden sequins, the outfits are shamelessly luxurious and opulent. Michael Kors, Burberry, Altuzarra and Celine are some of the designers who presented golden dresses, jackets and coats. For a Rock&Roll look, pair your animal prints with gold.
Molly Goddard Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 2019-2020
Super wearable, this pale yellow, called Wax Yellow by Pantone, is perfect for completing all the outfits that ask for a neutral complement. It is also a beautiful shade for head-to-toe looks like this Molly Goddard dreamy dress, which you can wear by itself or layered over black pants on colder days. Butter-yellow is an excellent alternative to beige minimalist outfits, no wonder Jil Sander, Jacquemus and Max Mara chose it for their elegant looks.
Wang Xin Yu at Lanvin show Fall/Winter 2019/2020
Avocado is not fashionable only in your diet; it’s also one of the significant colour trends for fall. The energetic and vibrant hue appeared on the catwalks of Lanvin with this super elegant coat, Versace, Brandon Maxwell, Burberry and Emilia Wickstead, to name a few. It looks lovely with purple, gold or bluestone. Guacamole, anyone?
Rejina Pyo Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 2019-2020
Among all the shades of blue we saw in A/W19 collections, this chic greyish-blue is the one we liked the best for fall. It is lighter than the other blues and looks fabulous paired with lavender as Marc Jacobs did, and with grey, as Rejina Pyo combined. Be prepared to see a lot of denim in this shade next season.
We hope you have fun putting together a colourful fall wardrobe!
