The new way to wear your classic sweater will make you look super fashionable

15. April 2019

There’s a very simple styling trick that we’ve been spotting over and over again, on Instagram and in the streets of the most fashionable cities. It’s about a new way to wear a sweater, and that will make you look super stylish with what you already have in your wardrobe.

Sexy 60s style

I’m sure you already own at least one cardigan, right? Instead of wearing your it over a shirt, which is a bit boring and too preppy, skip the shirt thing and wear your buttoned cardigan with nothing underneath. Mary Tyler Moore, who starred one of the most feminist shows in the 70s, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, used to wear her cardigan like that. And now, it’s so on-trend again.

Unbutton french style

A cardigan is ideal for the spring weather, and it looks great paired with wide-legged denim and with paper bag pants, another hot trend this season. Cardigans also look lovely with pleated skirts, but if you want to get that French “je ne sais quoi”, do as Jeanne Damas. The new way to wear a sweater here is to unbutton the first and the two or three last buttons. Like Jeanne, you will make your outfit sexy and effortless.

Colour-blocking style

Here is nother French girl to copy. Because they are famous for their chic and nonchalant style. So it only natural that French brands like Sézane and Musier Paris have the perfect sweater for you. Wear it like the influencer Elsa Muse; a classic cardigan in neutral beige with bright colour pants. The minimalist colour-blocking look is elegant and contemporary. The new way to wear a sweater here is to make it look like a chic top, and choose a v-neck to a subtle sexy touch.

And let’s face it, it is really fun to be able to give an edge to your favourite cardigan and look fashionable with such a simple trick. You’re welcome 😉
