With love, to me, from me

11/29/2019

After worrying about finding the best presents for your husband and children, we think you deserve a little spoiling too; so Notorious Special Christmas List series this time is all about you, and how to treat yourself with some fabulous Christmas gift ideas!

The Christmas list I prepared to indulge myself has practical pieces and others not that practical but that I've had my eyes on for some time. Since I don’t want to cram my wardrobe with new items bought on the spur of the moment that I will wear only once or twice; I selected things I know I need. I prefer to give myself garments and accessories that are versatile so that I can wear them in different ways. I also looked for good-quality materials that look chicer and last longer. Even on a budget, you can find lovely presents for yourself; the secret lies in knowing how to buy clothes that look expensive but actually, aren't.

Handbags

I want a new bag with some fancy detail as geometrical handles or silhouette that I can wear to go to the office or out for lunch with friends. Natural leather and suede always look chicer. And for something more whimsical I can wear on New Year's Eve, a sparkling little party bag with fringes or a fabulous pink one with sequins and ostrich feathers!

Leather skirts

I may not need a leather skirt, but I really want one! So Christmas seems the perfect time to get me a chic pencil leather skirt. I can wear it to a business meeting instead of a power suit, paired with boots and a crisp white shirt, or to go out at night, combined with killer heels and a sequin shirt. I can also wear my new leather skirt with Chelsea boots and an oversized pullover for a relaxed yet stylish look.

Teddy bear coat

I'm looking for a new winter coat, and Teddy bear style is so cute and cosy I think I need one ASAP! In a beautiful caramel colour, yes it deserves a space in my wardrobe.

Wide-legged pants

I am obsessing over these Palazzo-pyjama style trousers. I find the extra-wide legs so elegant, flattering and timeless, I want to spend the rest of my days in them. Whether made in denim or wool, the flared pants look fab as an office outfit when paired with loafers, or worn with pumps for an evening look.

Statement tops

To update and upscale the skirts and pants I already have in my wardrobe, I selected beautiful blouses in sync with the main trends for winter 2020; dark florals, statement sleeves, animal print and sequins.

Sparkle and shine

Since the party season is officially open and I think one can never own enough sequinned garments; here are a few I fancy. Sequins are absolutely on-trend in winter 2020, and I chose cool skirts, tops and dresses that I can also wear during the day with cowboy boots and a chunky pullover or an oversized blazer.

Chelsea boots and cowboy boots

Sturdy rubber soles give an edge to the classic Chelsea boots that will look fantastic with my new sequinned midi skirt ;)  I love my good-old Texan cowboy boots, but right now, I'm dying to get these colourful ones that are so much fun and stylish.

Don’t forget to wrap your present beautifully, jazz it up with a lovely tag that reads "To me, from me", and put it under the tree because, even knowing what’s inside the box, you deserve that special feeling and sheer joy at unwrapping gifts on Christmas Eve!

Cheers,

CS
