I remember I used to see the fashion expert and TV presenter Trinny Woodall at parties and on TV when I lived in London, a life-time ago; fast-forward 20 years and here I am, following her on Instagram, with other 475k people and loving it, and here is why:
Trinny Woodall and her BFF Susannah Constantine, the ex-girlfriend of Viscount David Linley, were a big hit in the UK in the ‘90s and noughties, with the several style guide articles and books they wrote and their BBC makeover show, the fun “What Not To Wear” that’s helped so many women find their own style and self-esteem.
After overcoming huge personal and financial problems, Woodall has reinvented herself and is back with a successful cosmetic line, Trinny London, and wonderful short movies for her Instagram account, where she shows women her look of the day, giving precious tips on styling, makeup and on how to look fabulous with affordable clothes from Zara, Cos and other high-street brands.
The super stylish presenter turned business woman is a fun and posher version of the girl-next-door who speaks openly about her problems and past hardships, which makes her so relatable to women, lessening the sense of shame, pain and isolation that struggles with financial difficulties, weight gain, drugs and alcohol addiction, miscarriages, IVF treatments, menopause, depression and even suicide in the family can bring.
Trinny London, launched in 2017, follows the same easy DIY style of the style guru’s advices on fashion. The products give women the option to self-tailor their makeup using the diagnosis tool “Match2Me”. Most of the makeup comes in practical stackable pots that are small enough for you to carry in your handbag hence are your perfect party companions, and because they are cream-based, you can apply them easily with your fingers.
The makeup brand offers an online range of around 60 products, from foundations to lip and cheek colours, and ships them all over the world.
Trinny Woodall shows that it's never too late to start over, reinvent yourself and look wonderful at any age; this is why we love her!
