Lady Gaga took her little black book out to round up an all-star cast for the eight-hour concert One World: Together at Home

As a result, music icons like Elton John, Stevie Wonders and The Rolling Stones performed from home for Lady Gaga and Global Citizen’s special Coronavirus fundraiser event, urging us to stay home and stay safe.

The life-stream concert has raised so far 120 million euros in support of health care workers in the fight against coronavirus pandemic. But that’s not all. In fact, the release of the One World: Together at Home album containing 79 tracks will help generate more support for the people helping save lives around the world.

Paul McCartney, the eternal Beatle whose mother was a nurse, said he was “very honoured to be part of this programme that celebrates the true heroes: our health care workers all around the world.”

An impressive list of artists collaborated with this project. For example, Eddie Vedder, Billie Eilish, Jenifer Lopes, Zucchero and Ellie Goulding joined the concert. Also, Keith Urban became a one-man band in one of my favourite performances of the night.

Further, Camilla Cabello and Shawn Mendes sang together beautifully What a Wonderful World. Likewise, Taylor Swift, Annie Lennox, Christine and the Queens, Celine Dion and Andrea Boccelli, to name a few, also participated.

Most importantly, the musicians appeared in their studios or living rooms, giving us the chance to peek inside their homes. J Lo and Elton John preferred to sow us their gardens. The Rocket Man playing his grand piano underneath a basketball hoop, as one does, of course.

Liam Payne made a touching speech about one of the positive things coming out of this dark moment. And that is people being brought together by solidarity. Then, he added that he hoped his singing would bring us enjoyment. It did, thank you. Similarly, at the beginning of Lady Gaga’s performance, she stated that her wish was to give us permission to smile.

To sum up, I especially liked the uplifting songs that took me to a happy place and made me smile. Above all, congratulations and a big thank you to all the artists who took part in this amazing project!
