Sometimes we need to step back a little to see what is really happening and have a look at what we have, what we are doing and how we are doing in life. This attitude is the first step on how to be optimistic. I mean, the ability to see the world with under bright lights is not something that you are born with, it’s a training, you have to become this kind of person.
We live in a world of fast fashion, the internet, social media platforms. All of these, move to a very quick pace and often we do not realize that things happen, and we forget to enjoy the little moments that we are supposed to enjoy. So it is good to stop every now and then to evaluate what it is working for us or not.
The good news is, that if you are not a very positive person, we are about to change your life vision with these very simple tips on how to be optimistic on a daily basis.
Timing is different for everyone. Look at your Facebook feed, is it full of babies and beautiful and big homes? It means your friends are married, growing families and making careers. And you are still sitting in your small (but charming) studio trying to figure out what you want in life and whether this job IS it or not for you. Oh, baby, DO NOT WORRY ONE BIT. Everyone has different life-clock. Each person is different, and you should not try to compare your job or your house to others. Be careful with FB friends, Instagrams and any social media; not everything is as it looks. Take your time to enjoy the moment, and the rest will come.
Never, ever, doubt yourself. Self-doubt is probably equal to self-destruction. Self-doubt means you are killing yourself inside with unnecessary bad thoughts. You should always remember that you are awesome and that there is nothing that you cannot do. Only once this priority is clear in your head, things will be fine.
Those milliseconds you take for yourself are GOLD. Take a step back and analyze your situation and think whether you love it or whether there is still room for improvement. If so, it is time to set up some new goals in life.
I have these “breathe” moments while walking for 30 minutes at night, after dinner. I also make small pauses during the day, to recite a prayer. I do that alone in a room, with my eyes closed in silence. I have friends that meditate, and others that go jogging. Anything that makes you find your inner voice is welcomed.
Always remind yourself that you are doing just fine. Treating yourself is a total must since we all tend to be very harsh on yourself sometimes. Buy that dress, plan that trip, go to that concert and definitely buy those shoes that you completely fell in love with the other day.
You can’t control everything
How to be optimistic if everything around me is a mess? The climate, the hedonist society, savage capitalism, etc, etc. Breathe, and start thinking that you can’t control many things in life. But you can do your part, you can contribute for a better life, taking a small action that will guarantee the future of the planet for example. And you can be sure that your tiny contribution will be added to other tiny deeds and it will become a huge chain of changes.
You know your power, you know how to be optimistic.
