According to Pantone, the colour of 2018 is Purple as you can read here.  So of course, during the year, we've been seeing this tone in all kinds of hues. Spring/Summer 2018 is the time for the ethereal purple's cousin, lilac.

Although some people may think lavender is an outdated colour, the one your granny would wear, and that it doesn't look good on blondes or that you can only wear it on a sunkissed skin, lilac is everywhere. This pale purple may remind you of the 70's hippies, Jimi Hendrix and his "Purple Haze" or Prince with "Purple Rain", but the fact is that the colour has never been as on-trend as now! This season, most designers agree that pale lilac is the summer’s hue.

Michael Kors, Emporio Armani, Victoria Beckham, Alberta Ferretti, among others, chose to use lilac in their collections, with looks combining Lavender with green, white, black. The pale colour is, as a matter of fact, one of the big trends of Spring/Summer ’18.

If you think an all-lavender look is too much for you, try starting with just a lilac belt, a handbag or shoes or, mixing the pale colour with a strong red, mint green, fuchsia, navy, beige or why not; silver. We've been seeing more and more lilac in the streets of fashionable cities and on blogs, and we're pretty sure that, if you haven't done it yet, you too will soon be wearing it!
