Fashion loves the duo Berlin and David Bowie

Hedi Slimane released Celine's A/W19 newest campaign just a few days before his catwalk show for the French label’s Spring-Summer 2020 that closed the Paris menswear season.
Besides being a fashion designer, Slimane is also a photographer; he shot the images for the campaign in Berlin’s graffiti-covered streets, rooftops and in the night club SO36, where David Bowie and Iggy Pop used to party in the ‘70s and ‘80s punk era and new wave days.
David Slimane is not the first designer to be influenced by both Bowie and Berlin, the Italian house Max Mara presented two weeks ago, its Resort 2020 collection also inspired by the German capital’s architecture and the iconic David Bowie.
After changing Celine’s logo and starting to reposition the French house by creating a more modern and minimalist style with a touch of street style and underground, Hedi Slimane continues pushing Celine towards an old-school rock star style with his S/S2020 menswear collection and A/W19 campaign. The photos and the short film for the newest campaign are shot in black and white, and the images are at the same time edgy and elegant, like Slimane’s creations for Celine.
