The newest H&M collaboration is with luxury fashion designer Giambattista Valli, bringing haute couture closer to all fashion lovers, even those who wouldn’t normally be able to afford the party dresses they see on the red carpet.

Talking about the Italian Paris-based designer known for his sophisticated tulle-layered creations, H&M creative advisor, Ann-Sofie Johansson, said that “He is the undisputed master of Haute Couture with a knack for memorable silhouettes.”

The limited edition called #Project Love will allow everyone to have a taste of haute couture and wear gorgeous party dresses with the “Valli DNA of extraordinary, of one-of-a-kind, of uniqueness, of couture”, as Valli explained. For this collaboration, Valli also included menswear, a first for the designer. “The goal is to share my love for beauty and to be able to be a part of everyone’s happy moments, to help create love stories around the world” stated the couture designer.

Giambattista Valli announced his collaboration with the Swedish high street giant, very fittingly, at the Cannes Film Festival, surrounded by celebrities like Bianca Brandolini d’Ada, Kendall Jenner, Chiara Ferragni, H.E.R., Chris Lee and Ross Lynch looking all fabulous on the red carpet in Valli’s glamorous creations for H&M.

It is not the first time that luxury fashion designers have collaborated with the fast-fashion brand; Erdem, Alexander Wang, Karl Lagerfeld, Balmain, Moschino and Comme des Garçons are some who have already created special collections for H&M.

The first drop with selected pieces of the #Project Love pre-collection was sold out within hours but a second drop, this time of the main collection, will be available from the 7th November at H&M shops around the world. Because it is not every day that you can get red-carpet couture-like outfits at really affordable prices, you will have to run – and probably elbow your way through – to be able to get your hands on these high-end-looking party dresses!

Put on your running shoes, get ready, set…
