Fall trends emerged from the streets of Copenhagen Fashion Week As cool as it gets.

17. August 2020

It is no secret we love Scandinavian fashion and street style, so we’re always eager to see what the stylish Scandinavian girls and influencers are wearing during Copenhagen Fashion Week. Pernille Teisbaek, Jeanette Friis Madsen and Thora Valdimars are some of our favourite Danish street style stars who know how to rock minimalist looks as well as bold coloured outfits and prints. Here are several fall trends that emerged from the street style in Copenhagen during CPHFW that we’re sure you’ll love to wear next season.

Peanut Butter Outfit

Looking at the cool Scandi girls, one of the colours you will wear this autumn is earthy mid-brown tones. Peanut Butter outfits are perfect for autumn. You can mix different hues of peanut butter for an elevated look. Or mix it with a fluffy coat in Amber Glow, one of the fashion colour trends for fall. Otherwise, pair a dark beige suit with a turquoise or vivid green shirt for modern outfits. Peanut butter brown also goes very well with black or white, in a classical and timeless combination.

Blue Sky

For a much-needed dose of optimism, wear blue sky garments and accessories as the Danish fashion-enthusiasts do. Whether a trench coat for rainy days, a dress or a handbag to add a pop of colour, this light blue will definitely put a smile on your face.

Leather

Following the Lagom philosophy, the Scandinavian it-girls achieve perfect balance in their looks. They mix high street and luxury, feminine and masculine, and chic and relaxed. Leather blazers add a masculine touch to floral dresses or girlie skirts. Also, military olive or black leather are mixed with bright colours. The styling is the key to achieve the cool Scandinavian style; layer shorts over pants, wear maxi dresses instead of shirts over trousers. In other words, get inspired by the street style and trends from Copenhagen. And have fun putting together looks with pieces you already have in your wardrobe.

Matrix

One of the fall trends directly from the streets of Copenhagen is the long coat worn open. This autumn you should look like Keanu Reeves, wearing long coats paired with dark sunglasses. Actually, you can wear your coat or just place it on your shoulders, almost like a shawl. The Matrix look not only is stylish but also will keep you warm in the colder autumn days.

Plaid

Checkered outfits are a must for the stylish influencers during CPHFW. We especially like the fun mix of patterns that makes the classical plaid totally contemporary. Besides the street style in Copenhagen, check also the plaid suits that will make you happy to go to work.

More boots than sneakers?

Yes, the biggest footwear fall trend from Copenhagen Fashion Week was, with no doubts, the boots. Either ankle, knee-high or cowboy boots, they were the number one shoe choice of the trendy influencers. We saw punk-style boots with chunky soles but also kitten heels and block heels. Additionally, there were boots in patent leather and snakeskin, and pointy toes walked next to square-toe shoes. In other words, all is permitted this autumn, as long as you’re walking in boots.

Trench Coat

The classic trench coat is not only a fall trend from Copenhagen Fashion Week. The trench coat is the outwear par excellence for autumn weather. Nothing beats the timeless and effortlessly chic coat. A trench looks wonderful over minimalist outfits and also over relaxed looks like jeans and a white t-shirt.

By the way, Copenhagen Fashion Week plans to become zero-waste until 2022. Additionally, by 2023, only brands that meet the determined sustainability criteria will be allowed to participate. This will make CPHFW the most sustainable fashion week in the world.
