Late summer or early fall days are the best from a fashion viewpoint. Not too hot and not too cold either, they make it possible to wear all those cool and easy outfits that we cannot wear the rest of the year. But watch out: this period is short and over sooner than you might think. That’s why you need to make the best out of these few days and wear your transitional pieces nonstop. If you are not sure which ones they are, we are here to clarify.
Crop tops are the perfect pieces to wear now. On slightly hotter days you can combine them with culottes or a midi skirt and when fall kicks in simply pair them with some skinny or mom jeans and a raincoat.
Floral dresses are an all year round staple that can also be worn in the transitional period we are currently in. On late summer days they look best with some ballet flats and big sunnies and on chillier ones you can combine them with cowboy boots, leather or bomber jackets and big chunky scarfs.
Your basic cotton t-shirts were your best friend in summer and they will also be in fall. Instead of melting in them though, you will put layers on top of them. Lumberjack shirts or a cool blazer accompany your favourite band, graphic or plain tee and will keep you warm.
The checked pattern is still going strong. In summer we wore checked dresses and blouses with sandals and shorts. Now is the time to pair them with cosy cardigans, tights, a scarf or to even wear them over pants.
As we already told you, slippers are really good for stepping from summer into fall. They are perfect for moderate temperatures and can basically be worn with anything from jeans to dresses and skirts. Just be careful to not wear them on days on which rain is forecasted!
