From Rihanna to Gigi, they are all wearing them!

In the eyewear sea, there are many big fishes, but there is a small one causing a sensation among fashionistas and it-girls.
Singer and trendsetter Rihanna appeared at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival wearing customised sunglasses made especially for her by the small Austrian brand Andy Wolf. Since that moment, the still somewhat unknown brand has become the darling of stylish girls such as Gigi and Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner and stars like Cate Blanchett.
The Matrix-looking micro-sunnies made by Andy Wolf are the big hit of this summer, but the brand has several other cool designs including bigger models with coloured lenses, which is one of the strong eyewear trends in 2018.
The company was envisioned by three friends, the eyewear designer Katharina, Andreas (Andy) and Wolfgang (Wolf) while were enjoying a typical Austrian meal and wondering why eyeglasses weren’t made like that meal, in a familiar, personal and natural way. They started the company in Hartberg in 2006, with 17 workers producing the handcrafted glasses entirely in Austria where Katharina says “there is a very long tradition of producing eyewear”. Nowadays there are still relatively small, with only 58 people, but are already represented in more than 45 countries. And although the label has grown, the three friends continue to work there together as a family.
Behind each Andy Wolf sunglasses, there is long and complicated 90-steps process using state-of-the-art technology, skilled craftsmanship, high-quality material and cool design that ensures the glasses are not only stylish but also durable and sustainable. Have a look here at how they are handmade.
