So here is what we know so far:

1-  The events

The new Season 3 takes us from the late ’60s through the ’70s. In those years, many significant events happened in Britain and the world. Among others, the moon landing, and the tragedy in a Welsh village school where 116 children died and the delayed visit of the Queen. The Welsh tragedy is one of the Queen’s greatest regrets.

In one of the episodes we learn; the James-Bond-movie-like incident with the Queen’s art adviser, Sir Anthony Blunt, confessing he was a Russian spy.

2- The Scandals

Ben Daniels  portrays the photographer Anthony Armstrong-Jones, Princess Margareth’s husband. The glamorous couple sadly breakup and they become the first divorced senior members of the royal family. Ben Daniel said: “After being glued to the first two seasons of The Crown I am beyond thrilled to be joining the cast of this incredible piece of television. Snowdon was such a dynamic and complex man, I’m really looking forward to playing him.”

3- The Royalties on the Moon

The Crown Season 3 goes on. Prince Philip will get quite obsessed with the moon landing. The heroic feat deepens his personal crisis and makes him question what would have happened if he hadn’t married the Queen. Tobias Menzies, the Outlander  star, portrays the middle-life-crisis royal husband. In the new The Crown Season 3 cast are Erin Doherty, who plays Princess Anne, Marion Bailey, as the Queen Mother, and Josh O’Connor, who plays Prince Charles.

4- Charles, Camila, Diana, Camila

The Crown Season 3 shows the beginning of the life-long romance between Prince Charles and Camilla Shand, played by the star of the TV hit Call the Midwife, Emerald Fennell. The actress showed true British wit by saying her teenage years had “well prepared me for playing a chain-smoking serial snogger with a pudding bowl hair cut.”

5- Ready for The Crown Season 4?

We will have to wait a bit longer to see Princess Diana as she won’t appear in The Crown Season 3 yet. The Princess will be played by the relatively new star, Emma Corrin, and die-hard fans of the iconic Diana will finally encounter her in The Crown season four.
