Gold, diamonds and fun

Can you wear a banana around your neck and look chic? Thanks to Prada, yes, you can! The Italian fashion house has launched its first Fine Jewellery Collection composed of 10 necklaces, 14 earrings and 6 bracelets that are at the same time luxurious and fun.
Everything Miuccia Prada touches turns to gold, so it’s no surprise that Prada’s iconic symbols have turned into fine jewellery pieces. The brand's triangular logo, bananas, guitars, roses, rabbits and robots ( my personal favourite) hang from earrings and delicate chains. Prada explains that “the costume jewellery collection is doing very well. But there was more and more demand for a fully-fledged fine jewellery line.”
The delicate charms and earrings bear Prada’s signature ironic design. We can see the high level of craftsmanship in the robot with tiny diamond eyes and the yellow gold guitar with white gold strings.
Prada manages to unite sophistication with humour in its collection, all made in sustainably-sourced 18-carat gold and diamonds certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council. The adorable gold baubles are available online and at Prada stores.
Miuccia Prada is following the steps of other Italian luxury fashion houses that launched fine jewellery lines this year, Giorgio Armani and Gucci, proving that people's love for high-end jewellery is very much alive, thank you very much.
