Streets are the best runway as always.
New York Fashion Week has just ended and what happened on the catwalks was as exciting as what we saw in the streets. The street style during NYFW confirmed the major trends for Fall/ WInter that we had already told you about here at Notorious. Yellow, more specifically, the exotic Ceylon Yellow, is one of the Pantene colour trends for next season. Here we see it mixed with off-white or earthy brown and black, but it also looks fabulous with lavender or light pink.
New York is known as the concrete jungle, and during this NYFW, things were wilder than ever! Leopard and snake prints invaded the streets, as we told you it would happen here.
Coat over the shoulders
Hand-in-hand with the preppy sweater around the shoulders from the 80's, the look fashionistas embraced in New York was the coat worn over the shoulders, as if it were a superhero’s cape. A very easy-to-copy styling trick, although not very practical in chilly days.
The monochrome outfit was a strong trend in the streets of New York, especially oversized classics redesigned into relaxed shapes and lighter tones of the same colour that bring a "je-ne-sais-quoi" intellectual, chic and atemporal with a modern twist. Check here the many amazing monochrome Dior looks for inspiration.
Whether you rock a fluffy fake-fur coat, a duffle coat, a tweed or a long leather coat, anything goes, as long as it’s oversized! So don't be shy and get now your extra-large outwear that we know you're dying to have, and that will not only look cool but also allow you to breathe even with the multi-layering that you will surely love to wear under it.
Pullover and skirt
Long skirts with comfy pullovers was another strong tendency we spotted during NYFW. Mix patterns and prints and wear them with cowboy boots to get extra cool points. It is a fantastic trend that allows you to keep wearing your long summer skirts during the transition from summer to fall.
