HRH Prince Christian of Hannover and Peruvian lawyer and fashion designer Alessandra de Osma, celebrated their wedding in a star-studded religious ceremony at the baroque Basilica San Pedro in Lima, Peru, last 16th March.
Prince Christian of Hannover is the youngest son of Prince Ernst, head of the royal house of Hannover, and his first wife Chantal Hochuli, whom he divorced to marry Princess Caroline of Monaco and he is related to most of the European royal families. The bride comes from one of the oldest families in Lima. The Princess of the Andes, as she is known in Peru, is also, like her mother, a former model. In 2015, she opened with 3 partners the concept shop Isidra, in Lima, that promotes independent designers of fashion and art.
The couple met in 2005 when Alessandra was only 14 years old and served as a guide to Christian who was visiting Peru. They got married in London, in a small civil ceremony at the Chelsea Registry in November 2017 and live in Spain.
Last week they said yes again in a lavish festivity that lasted 3 days. The religious ceremony was followed by lunch at the Club Nacional, considered to be one of the 10 most elegant clubs in the world. Hundreds of people gathered in the streets to have a glance at the stunning bride and their stylish guests.
In the evening there was a cocktail and the following day, a black-tie gala at the Museo de Osma that was built as a summer home for the family and now houses the most important private collections of colonial and pre-hispanic art in Lima.
The guest list was impressive. The groom’s father came unexpectedly, No one was sure if he would be present because he had already missed his oldest son’s wedding due to family financial disputes.
Christian's half-brothers, Pierre and Andrea Casiraghi, and his sister Alexandra Hannover, daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco, celebrated with the happy couple.
Also at the festivities were Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, Kate Moss with boyfriend, the photographer Count Nikolai von Bismarck ( 14 years her junior), and many other celebrities and members of European aristocracy.
At the Basilica San Pedro, Alessandra wore a wonderful Chantilly and lace gown with a lengthy train by Jorge Vázquez, with the stunning Hannover floral tiara, the same Princess Caroline of Monaco wore on her wedding day.
For the cocktail, the bride arrived in a simple slip dress, similar to the ones that Bar Refaeli, Kate Moss and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy wore on their weddings, paired with a big white flower tiara.
Finally, at the wedding gala party, she wore an elegant and classic sleeveless white gown and a pair of diamond and pearl earrings made by jeweller Suarez in 1943.
