The sad news were announced yesterday night, when Stella Schnabel posted a picture of her hugging her best friend, captioned “I have never met a woman quite like you Anita.” on Instagram.
At the age of 73, the German-Italian actress, model and Rolling Stones muse Anita Pallenberg died yesterday of yet still unknown cause. Pallenberg was THE main fashion influencer of the 60s and 70s and characterized trends of that time conspicuously. Her admirable looks were copied countless times and inspire designers and women until today.
Starting her career as a model, Pallenberg became friends with the Rolling Stones, became their muse and created a cult that went far beyond fashion and music. She truly embodied that Rock’n’Roll lifestyle in every sense. Kate Moss did not only call her one of her closest friends, but also a style inspiration, which is probably the highest appreciation one can get from Moss. The endlessly cool Rock’n’Roll couple that she and Pete Doherty made in the 2000s, was Anita Pallenberg and Keith Richards in the Woodstock era. Together they had two children.
Anita was always interested in fashion and creation, what made her gaining a fashion design degree from Central Saint Martins in 1994. Nevertheless she soon retreated from fashion industry. Last September she made an appearance on the catwalk of her dear friend Pam Hogg’s show.
