New York Fashion Week is at full blast now and we could already spot some looks that will set the trends for Fall/WInter 2019-2020. We selected the best fashion moments of the NYFW on Instagram for you.

Carolina Herrera

AW 2019-2020 collection is an optimistic sea of bright yellow and pink, sometimes worn together, electric florals in blue and yellow worn under black, orange or white amazing coats. The silhouettes, especially of the gowns, are fluid, almost shapeless. Wes Gordon, the brand’s creative director, said he designed “having in mind the Duchess of Sussex in mind, for a bold, confident woman who doesn’t want to be a wallflower and loves beautiful things. I think that’s her ( Meghan Markle)”. We especially loved the neon orange oversized anorak.

Prabal Gurung

In the Fall 2019 collection, we see a bright turquoise jacket with a yellow skirt, plenty of layering, deconstructed suits that take you from work to night-out, and fun mini-dresses covered in feathers that scream Party-Time, bold colours and ethnic-inspired prints in an east-meets-west feel. The cargo pants are sleek, mixing utilitarian and evening in one look.

Jonathan Simkhai

Simkhai’s woman is strong and confident, but at the same time, feminine and sexy. For his Fall 2019 collection, the designers found inspiration in the Ukranian dresses worn by his grandmother. Scarf print dresses, deconstructed suits in pink and tartan, elegant jumpsuits, bright yellow and mustard feminine dresses with draped details or lace and dresses in patchwork denim, which we already told you before, will be the big trend for denim this year.

Zimmermann

The Australian label debut in New York is inspired by the spy Nancy Wake who grew up in Australia. Lace dresses, floral dresses worn with floral high boots, lace shirts with big puffy sleeves and long cuffs, plenty of bows. Bold leather belts, wonderful metallic silver biker jackets and long coats balance the over-romantic Victorian dresses.

First Look: “I was thinking about the world of espionage and came across the story of the Nancy Wake, who grew up in Australia, and later became a spy in Europe during WW2. Known as the White Mouse - because she was so hard to catch - Wake became a leading figure in the French resistance, assisting the escape of the thousands of persecuted people and later working as an operative of the Allied forces. For me the work of a spy evoked a mood of subterfuge and sabotage. And this story really set off my imagination - a mysterious and brave woman, a chameleon who moves around in secrecy, strong and resilient, always evasive so as to never be caught. I loved the idea of such a feminine, skillful and selfless figure - a woman who helped people in the most difficult of circumstances. Her story just sounded pretty amazing to me and was a rich source of inspiration for the collection.’ x Nicky Zimmermann #fall19 #EYESPY #nyfwzimmermann #zimmermann

Hellessy

Another brand that chose bright colours for the next season is Hellessy. The references to the ’80s were not only neon colours like pink and cobalt blue but also the structured silhouettes and big shoulder pads. The red hooded gown worn over sequinned pants looked fantastic.

Khaite

Designer Catherine Holstein found inspiration for the label’s runway debut with the Fall’19 collection, in the “ingenuity, strength and audacity of women in America”. The evening looks are wonderful, especially a white long skirt worn with a turtleneck top with puffy arms and a western belt, and a bottle-green wrapped dress with extra-long sleeves. For the day, denim cowboy shirts and jeans paired with a checkered overcoat and fab zebra boots, belted plaid blazers with dark jeans, and wonderful shirts with puffy, oversized sleeves worn with distressed jeans.

Tom Ford

Ford’s Fall ’19 collection is incredibly chic and glam. Velvet jackets with shiny silk pants, tailored silk suits worn with big fur hats, and clean long dresses so simple and elegant!

Brock Collection

One of the favourite labels of Meghan Markle, the Fall/winter 2019 collection is vintage-inspired with floral prints and romantic dresses with lace, we loved the gold brocade skirt and jacket with a ruffled neck and the gown I the same gold brocade with a long black sash around the waist.

Tibi

Tibi Fall 2019 is very flattering, over-the-knee skirts with off-white boots and chunky pullovers, and pastel colours such as lavender, baby blue or yellow to brighten the darker days.

Tomo Koizumi

The Japanese designer caught everyone’s attention with his Fall 2019 collection. His gigantic ruffled dresses and gowns are colourful and fun, although practically unwearable. We’re sure the ones like Lady Gaga will be seen in the fantastic creations very soon!
