New York Fashion Week Fall 2017 has just kicked off, and you’re in for some surprises. One staggering one comes straight from the runway of one of the most discussed new labels of the past couple of years, Vetements. Seemingly a normcore-inspired brand customized for the younger street-loving generation, Vetements changed the cards on the table dishing out a row of models of every shape, background, and age.
Channeling “social uniforms”, as designer Demna Gvasalia herself told Vogue, the Fall 2017 collection is a portrait and re-interpretation of what is the truest concept of street style. Literal street style. She also said:
What we do here is always a reappropriation of something which already exists.
