All the curly girls out there, it is time to put away our straighteners and work with what we’ve got. Let’s embrace those curls. We tell you how to do it.
So many curly girls swear by it. In their hair routine they skip shampoo and rely solely on conditioner (“co washing” = conditioner-only washing). The result: smooth and soft hair that is a lot easier to manage. If you have dry and frizzy hair, why not give it a go? As an alternative you can also mix a small amount of (sulphate-free) shampoo with a conditioner to make your very own and unique cleansing conditioner.
Let us tell you how to brush those curls
Believe it or not most of us actually haven’t been brushing their hair in the right way for their whole life. So let us explain it to you! Instead of starting at the roots, begin with the hair-ends and gradually move upward. It’s so much easier to comb through knots at the ends first.
Trade your towel for a T-Shirt
After washing your hair, wring out the water with a simple T-shirt instead of a towel. Towels absorb too much water and moisture out of the hair. That causes frizz and matted hair.
Well, we can hardly call it an insider tip that coconut oil does real wonders to dull hair and a dray scalp. So either apply it all over your hair as deep conditioner before showering or use coconut oil as a “leave in overnight hair mask”. It will leave your curls with a really nice shine.
Banish your normal brush
Say goodbye to the good old hairbrush! Use a wide toothed comb made from horn or wood instead. If that doesn’t work, purchase a detangling comb or a so-called Tangle Teezer brush. They’ll make all your knots disappear magically.
Condition your hair while you exercise
Before you go to hit the gym, apply a little bit of deep conditioner (or also coconut oil) to your hair. Put it up into a ponytail or a bun. The heat from your body will allow the moisture to set in. Extra soft curls guaranteed!
