With all the diets and beauty tips nowadays, it is hard to decide which one really is the one that works. Be careful about what you read and hear because not everything is true and not everything works as they say!

But worry not, for debunking myths is one hell of a way to spend an afternoon for us. And, of course, we are here to share our findings!

1. Drinking water keeps your skin from drying out

This is one of the biggest myths out there and it is completely false. What keeps skin moist is oil, not water. Drinking water is of course, good for your vital organs but no matter how much water you drink a day your skin will still be dry.

2. Toothpaste on zits

Putting toothpaste on zits overnight so they dry out is also a big lie. The ingredients contained in a tube of toothpaste are actually major irritants for the skin. When applied to the skin for prolonged periods of time, it can cause redness and itchiness. So, in order to get rid of a zit, the best thing is sleep and time.

3. Wearing makeup every day is bad for your skin

Wearing makeup consistently won’t actually make your skin worse. A day with no makeup feels good, but the real problem of skin damage is not consistently washing your makeup off before you go to sleep. Sleeping overnight with tons of makeup — that is what is bad for the skin.

4. Putting mayonnaise on the hair makes it look shiny and brighter

Putting mayonnaise into the hair and letting it on for some minutes doesn’t help your hair get shiny. Mayonnaise main ingredients are egg and oil, both good for the hair, sure, but there are alternatives. Like vinegar. Vinegar is not good at all for the hair and doesn’t make it shine or brighter by any chance.

5. Drinking smoothies will help every aspect of the body

As we all know, almost all types of smoothies are delicious. However, fruit smoothies are not as healthy as you may think. Don’t forget just because they are fruits and they are rather healthy, fruits contain a lot of sugar.
