Finally, Louis Vuitton new Perfume line is here! Known and desired because of their bags and the famous intertwined LV logo, the French luxury brand Louis Vuitton is exploring new markets, launching a long-awaited perfume line with seven different fragrances.
The new perfume collection, named Les Parfums Louis Vuitton, mixes floral notes and leather aroma, in a reference to the traditional bags, trunks, and purses from the Maison. Each scent takes a poetic name, such as Rose Des Vents, Turbulences, Dans La Peau, Apogée, Contre Moi, Matière Noire and Mille Feux. And the perfume’s muse is the French actress Léa Seydoux, who has already stated that her favorite scent is Rose Des Vents.
After failing in 1946 with their first try creating a perfume line, Louis Vuitton handed the creation of this collection in the hands of Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, an expert in perfumes and a family business for 3 generations, who has recently acquired the Les Fontaines Parfumes company, a perfumery that has more than 350 varieties of plants and flowers.
Michael Burke, chairman and chief executive of Louis Vuitton, explained why the perfume launch had been five years in development:
“Over the last 20 years, we have extended our reach everywhere from shoes to accessories to jewelry and beyond… And fragrance — a fundamental aspect of dressing, and telling the world who you are every day — was our last major frontier. It is no real surprise we decided to go into this in a big way.”
Investing in a perfume line is apparently a very smart business move, considering the bag sales of Louis Vuitton and other luxury brands have seen better days.
So write this down on your calendar with big letters: September 1st, the collection Le Parfums Louis Vuitton will be officially on sale online and in 473 international stores of the brand.
The prices vary, ranging from € 200 to € 300.
