While the days are getting steamy and temperatures hit 32 degrees, we are happy we can wear our sundresses and sandals, but it sure doesn’t get any drier in here. Let me get this straight: summer is the best time of the year, and we have been longing for it in the long Austrian winter in-between double blankets and warm teas in our hands. However, handling summer is no business for inexpert gals. Looking flawless when the heat strikes is no easy deal, but worry not, for, as usual, we come forward with a ready-made guide. Here is how to handle the heat properly.

Wear breezy stuff

This is obvious, but also not to easy when it comes to it. To avoid when the heat peaks: tight tops, hats (apart from straw hats), closed shoes.

Drink, drink, drink

We mean water, obviously, but nobody can ever deny the beauty of an ice-cold cocktail in a summer sunset.

Go easy on the makeup

Summer is the time when less is more. Less clothes, less makeup, less hairstyling. Keep it natural to reduce the fuss, and also to avoid that your makeup trickles down your cheeks and chin in dark streaks.

Choose the dark side

To avoid excessive sweating, choose the shadows when resting. Unless you have a bikini on and it’s tan-day, that’s your go-to for a less sweaty summer.

When asked if it’s sweat on your forehead, say you just came from a swim

If there is no way to avoid a certain degree of sweating, then there is just one solution: lie. Lie like your life depended on it.
