By now, there’s absolutely no way you don’t know about our admiration for one of the year’s most legendary, infamous and romantic events – the Cannes Film Festival. We’ve wallowed in nostalgic 50 years reviews, elected the best dressed celebrities of 2016 and, last but not least, are feasting our eyes on all the things that happened after the sun had set (or not, but you know what I mean).

  • Tuesday: First, the Swiss luxury jeweller, De Grisogono, nested at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc and threw a red carpet party. Kim Kardashian was the guest of honor and came in a dress that, a mix of skintight nude color, chain mail, was exemplary for her circle’s “taste”  in fashion. Swiss rich scene meets social media success – awkward and entertaining.
  • Thursday: Second, but most important of all, there was the annual amfAR gala. Organized by amfAR, a non-profit aimed to support AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of AIDS-related public policy, it held its 23rd annual Cinema Against AIDS gala on the 19th. As usually, the event took place at the region’s probably most famous locus, the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc and was star-studded like no other.
  • Saturday: Third, there was the Vanity Fair 2016 Cannes Party. After a cocktail party and dinner, which were co-hosted by HBO, guests attended the glamorous after-party which was co-hosted by Chopard and partied until dawn. The guestlist included personage from Leonardo DiCaprio (who apparently was the talk of the evening) over Kendall Jenner (who apparently knew no-one and and just stood around awkwardly in her very leggy, fringed gown by the DJ booth with Vanity Fair‘s Derek Blasberg) and Colin Firth (who, also apparently, couldn’t bring up the impetus to attend the afterparty).
