Genevieve Naylor, born in 1915 in Massachusetts, moved to New York when she was only 18 and took up photography. Photography being to her first a passion and then a blooming career, Naylor became one of the first female photographers to be hired by the Associated Press.

Fashion photography became her thing after the war, when she was commissioned a number of shootings for names the likes of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. And this is how today we can enjoy some fashion photography from the 1940s, courtesy of Genevieve Naylor.
