It happened again: you decided to meet up with your friend from university who you haven’t seen in months. A catch up is definitely in order, as is an appointment right after work to optimize your time. And then, obviously, it’s gonna be drinks instead of coffee, because a drink after work it’s what makes our days lighter.

On the designated day, it’s just a matter of hours before what used to be a day shining with dignity becomes an ensemble of randomĀ memories stitched together with a good dose of headache. Exactly: you got yourself a hangover and now it’s 7:00 in the morning and you need to go to work. Hell on Earth, right? No worries. Here is how to handle work after a long night out.

Obviously, drink (water)

Replenish those fluids and get stuff going in your body. It can be hard to swallow liters of water in one such slow day, but you’ll thank me later, when you feel alive again in a few hours.

It’s the moment to use lots of makeup

If your face is looking like you’ve smashed it against a wall and pumped it back up with an air pump, and you’d betterĀ come to terms with this fact and fix it before it’s too late. Today is the day you can use concealer like there is no tomorrow.

Headphones on

Isolate yourself from the noise of the office keeping your headphones on all.day.long. Choose melodies that help with focus, because you’ll seriously need that.

Coffee is your best friend

Wake your slow mind up with some extra coffee love. However, remember to drink an extra glass of water for every cup: coffee is great, but it can dehydrate you further, and that is the last thing you want.

Eat that sandwich

It’s not just water and caffeine your body needs. Although the idea of lunch break might just look like a perfect excuse for a nap under the desk, do not forget the importance of a meal to get your energy flowing.

Plan an early night in

At the end of the day, the only advice that really helps is one: go to bed and sleep tight until the morning brings you your good ol’ human energy.
