Austrian Semester Holidays are just around the corner, and where else would you like to spend them if not on the skiing slopes? Besides the many wonderful skiing places in Austria, France or even Spain, there is one village in particular that has ever since attracted the crème de la crème of society – Gstaad in Switzerland. Located in the Bernese Oberland region of the Swiss Alps, at a height of 1,050 metres above sea level, it offers the possibility of various sports activities such as walking, hiking and – most importantly – skiing.

The unique location, wonderful nature and its very down-to-earth population are the reason why Julie Andrews once called it the “last paradise in a crazy world”. But she’s not the only one: international celebrities such as Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, Elizabeth Taylor and Roger Moore all appreciated Gstaad’s unpretentious charm. This truly alpine charm and discrete understated luxury are the reason why the village is still the hotspot for famous royal guests and visitors from the worlds of film, art, sport and science. Some of the planet’s best skiing slopes combined with high-end hotels, restaurants and shops but without the arrogance is what we love so much about this place – so in case you’ve grown tired of Kitzbuehl or where you normally spend your well-deserved winter break, worry no more because this is where you should be heading to.
