Fashion history has just been changed (or made?). In a move that shocked the whole fashion world, Grace Coddington reportedly decided to step down as Vogue creative director of American Vogue after 30 years.

This legend with flaming hair will be instead creative director at large and will still work with the magazine while she focuses on other projects outside the publication. So fear not, because 74-year-old Grace Coddington is not retiring anytime soon. And how did Anna take it? Coddington says that Wintour has been totally supportive of her decision.

Grace Coddington first worked close to Vogue as a very young model, just to then climb her way up to the side of editor-in-chief Anna Wintour in 1988. She is responsible for the creation of several of the magazine’s legendary fashion shoots; however, she became first known to the public after the release of The September Issue, a documentary about the creative process and daily life over at Vogue’s HQ.

Her next step will be a fragrance in collaboration with Comme des Garçons, which we can’t wait to pre-order.
