Forget them naked ladies, at least for a little while — this year, the most well-known calendar ever is going for brains, leaving nudity behind, because girl power!

While the Pirelli calendar is known to be a triumph of eye-candy, the 2016 edition is going to take on female appeal in a whole new way, celebrating those iconic women who make our world a better place. The photographer in charge of the project is awesome Annie Leibovitz, who had previously collaborated with Pirelli back in 2000. And here comes the best part: on the other side of the lens, we got a big bunch of idols. Patti Smith, Serena Williams, Yoko Ono, Amy Schumer, Tavi Gevinson, Ava DuVernay, Natalia Vodianova, Kathleen Kennedy, Shirin Neshat, Yao Chen, Mellody Hobson, Fran Lebowitz will be the starts of the year.

That’s great news for us, but what will the traditional Pirelli calendar aficionados say, once they find out their lovely yearly dose of naked bodies on beaches is not going to be available anytime soon? Patti Smith already thought about it: “I’ve seen a few of the photographs and they’re striking,” said newly deigned calendar girl Patti Smith. “I have no idea what the average recipient would [think], but I think that they should appreciate a bold move. We’ll see.”
