Do you remember when the bold brow was so out that people actually feared it? Can you recall your beautician waxing it all out with hate mixed to satisfaction in her eyes as she pulled those last stubborn hairs? That was a long time ago; the time of the brow persecution, when thin, extremely groomed eyebrows were the thing for a while — and you can sigh in relief as we leave that trend behind us.
After the pencil-shaped brows fad faded away, as it always happens, people started to look in their mirrors in horror, not remembering how their original eyebrows looked like. Oops!
As we gradually embrace beauty goals that don’t necessarily include radical face changes, fatter eyebrows are in again and probably here to stay, or, at least, to return over and over. Just like mom jeans, once just called jeans. Embrace your bold brow, because it’s awesome, and here is why.
Think Audrey Hepburn would have gone for those pencil eyebrows? Probably not. A good eyebrow shape that follows your natural lines won’t look embarrassing when looking back at the photos of your youth in a few years. Unless you are really trying hard.
It looks kind of tough
If these last years have seen a final awakening of those tough girls in our ranks, this brow trend couldn’t have found a better time to come out. Bold, natural brows underline your gaze and adds to its intensity. Just what you need if you have a rather young-looking face and you need to be taken seriously from time to time.
Keeping it natural
If you grow tired of makeup, and you probably will, a bold brow might be the best way to embrace a more natural look — and I am not talking about a makeup-induced natural look. As you can see in the gallery below, a well-groomed, thick brow can frame your eyes better than kohl and sculpt your face almost better than contouring or whatever Kim K does these days.
