New York Fashion Week SS16 is not over, and already we can spot a direction most designers seem to have taken. Oversize? 90s throwback? Color block? Well, it’s a little bit of everything. Or really, it’s actually not much. There, I said it.
What I mean is that there really is not anything about any of the collections shown so far that made us go “WOW, I want ten of these!”. And even if this doesn’t sound like a compliment, this phenomenon can actually be a good thing. Less crazy means more wearable. More wearable means that these collections were actually made to go down on the streets, or something like that. We like this!
However, we are still talking about Fashion Week, which means nothing is left to chance. Four our first NYFW review, we plumbed the depths of every clean-cut, every trace of over-size, every lack of heel or color preference to bring you the true dimension of this phenomenon.
