We all know that Vogue is a big name in the fashion world and they never disappoint with creativity. This time they stunned us with a beautiful exhibition, entitled “Vogue Like A Painting”. The exhibition is currently on view at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid and is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. The exhibition explores the fertile crossover between painting and photography and offers a beautiful selection of all together 61 fashion images. All of them are inspired by paintings from several art historical periods, such as the Renaissance and Rococo. Also languid female beauties are being pictured, that served as inspiration for the British Pre-Raphaelites.
Vogue made a series of careful selections of dazzling photographs from the archives of Vogue magazine. Some names include Annie Leibovitz, Peter Lindbergh, Paolo Roversi, Mario Testino, Tim Walker, Nick Knight, Deborah Turbeville, William Klein, Cecil Beaton, Edward Steichen, and David Seidner. All amazing talents with a great eye for detail and perfection.
