After a trip to a Berlin that was almost as warm as the southern Vienna, I am glad to give you the official report of my Berlin Fashion Week SS16 experience. Lena Hoschek’s show was the first, and here is what I saw from the first row.
As it often goes with Lena Hoschek’s spectacular quirkiness mixed with girliness, flowers were key in this SS16 collection. As a girl-rock soundtrack filled the runway, the models came out one by one sporting next year’s Spring/Summer must haves. Traditional girly and airy dresses paraded back and forth, displaying a choice of lengths for every taste, from knee-length skirts to short and seductive doll-like mini fit & flares. Some pieces reached the ground as well, and the collection was no short of trains.
Big straw hats, flower crowns and wooden sandals were the accessories of choice; a highlight: vintage radios made into hand bags. Among sexiness mixed with simplicity, a standout was the final piece: a flowy white gown in lace worthy of a medieval lady.
