Collage artist Eugenia Loli is an incredibly talented creative based in Germany. Eugenia uses photography scanned from vintage magazines and science publications to create surreal images out of this world. Her work is strongly influenced by pop art, dadaism, and the traditional surrealism. The contrasts of the worlds mentioned in her art and also the placement of details completely not fitting into the background is what makes her work so special.
While too many artists who tried their hand at doing collages fail by adding too many details, Eugenia catches the perfect composition and the contrast in her artworks. By using Dadaism she creates not just a piece of art which is just lovely to look at, but also something that is as meaningful as it is beautiful. Dadaism was used after the First World War to demonstrate the stupidy of the people who fighted in the war by creating art which was completely the opposite of what people though art actually was. It was a movement to destroy the ideal and the norm in the artworks. This fact is strongly visible in Eugenia Loli’s pictures, especially in the collage of the gun with flowers coming out of the ejector.
