There is nothing better than a young, creative artist to brighten up rainy days like today — like Dessie Jackson. The 21- year old Philly-based artist makes drawings out of this world. Ever since she was a young girl, she has been doing sketches of people, expressing her creativity with all her strength.

Dessie always wanted to recreate different images in her own way, and today she concentrates on portraying the woman. The beauty of a female face is what inspires her to create portraits which are certainly attracting attention. The most important detail and the centre of a painting are the eyes, and this is the reason why she always starts with them and then builds up around to make a perfect composition of a face.

Bobby Hundreds, one of the co-founders of The Hundreds company saw some of  Jackson’s artwork and asked her to do a similar piece for him but as a self-portrait on a T-shirt. Her drawing was mass-produced and people all over the world were wearing shirts with her artwork. This was her big breakthrough; since then she has been featured in Complex and JUMP Magazine and she was commissioned to create the cover art for Gilbere Forte‘s single “Nolita”.

How will the future look like? — she doesn’t know, all she knows is that she wants to continue her work and would love to collaborate with more musicians, as well as clothing brands. The young artist doesn’t have a destination, a place she wants to be in a couple of years;  all she wants is to create and inspire people with her work.
