You have surely heard about the lack of space in some cities in the East, especially when it comes to Japan. In order to solve the problem while making guests feel more like home, several capsule hotels started to spring up.
The Nine Hours hotel in Kyoto is one beautifully modern example. Each guest is given a capsule bedroom, while the rest of the amenities one would find in every hotel are all in separate areas. For each room number there is a shower, a bathroom, wardrobe and lockers, in addition to relax areas and all the things a guest might need: slippers, towels, soap, toothbrushes. The stay is short (9 hours, like the name suggests), but nothing is missing.
Clever use of minimum space and sleek, futuristic design make the capsule hotel concept something very special. Is it the hotel of the future?
