The Gucci show at London Fashion Week was expected with a mix of anxiety and excitement. As a matter of fact, all eyes were on Alessandro Michele, the latest director of the fashion house, given the task of bringing Gucci back on track.
And we have to say, he did a great job. Detaching from the at times oversexed image of the past decades, the Gucci AW15 collection is highly romantic, colorful and still somewhat edgy; quirky as well. If this sounds familiar, it’s because one of the hottest trends of the moment is dressing models á la Wes Anderson. After the costume designer Milena Canonero won an oscar for her work in The Grand Budapest Hotel, the world of fashion is going crazy for highly cinematic outfits. Retro taste, color, playfulness and lots of wearability. Needless to say, we are in love.
